Item Description

An incredibly rare specimen of the now discredited "Urbanite" from the Noda-Tamagawa manganese mine in Japan. The piece features bronze-brown crystals in Rhodonite matrix. This is one of only a handful of pieces of this species that we've seen, and comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value, but it ALSO comes with labels from Joe Cilen AND noted rare species collector, Bill Pinch! According to the label from Vajdak, the piece was collected in the 1950s. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
