Item Description

A striking and unusual parallel-growth, bi-colored tourmaline from this classic locale. The water-clear rind reveals patches of dark pink at the base, making this a watermelon elbaite. The translucent to gemmy body has unusual wavy layering with variable green to straw-yellow color. One trigonal termination is lustrous and lightly etched, while the other two are etched and with embedded clay. A 360-degree, fascinating and rare elbaite style from the Cruzeiro. Old-time material from the 1960s or 70s. Pristine. 25 grams mass. Value??
