Item Description
Beautiful and colorful cranberry-red hues accentuate this striking, highly unusually shaped tourmaline crystal cluster from Madagascar. The dramatic, large, 3.8 cm, gemmy, sriated, two-toned crystal, really jumps out at you from the sculpturally layered and color separated, densely intergrown smaller crystals. There was a find of some attractive tourmaline specimens from the Camp Robin area of Madagascar at the end of 2011. These crystals were sold to me as being Liddicoatite, but as of 2011, Liddicoatite is no longer a valid mineral species. "Liddicoatite" should be checked if they are to be assigned to fluor-liddicoatite or liddicoatite. The piece has several very fine display views. valued $900
