Unusual Smoky Quartz (Schlichter Coll.)

Item Description

A striking and highly unusual looking, large, floater smoky quartz specimen from Bern and the Schlichter Collection. Both sides of this very glassy, transparent to translucent piece have very sharp and impressive scalloped/skeletal features. It reminds me of Brazilian "alligator" quartz. The back has several deep penetrations where terminated quartz crystals have been dissolved away and all has bubbly features. All-in-all, a spectacular large two-sided, pristine smoky with highly unusual form.
