Item Description
A VERY RARE and highly unusual freeform-sculpture botyroidal ruby from Mogok! The juicy, waxy lustrous, translucent variably pink mounded plate has striking cavities in the mounded section. Nearly all of the classical rubies from here are euhedral to subhedral. A fascinating and rare two-sided botryoidal ruby plate from the Kay Robertson Collection # 5123. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Cherry-red fluorescence. Highly unusual, and old (1970s)!
