unusual Malachite and Cerussite

We've seen some great primary Malachite pieces from Tsumeb, however, this small cabinet piece from the Pohl collection is truly excellent for the strange wheel-like style, especially with the Cerussite association. A single large, absolutely gorgeous, robust, tightly divergent spray of needle-like crystals measures 3.5 cm tall, 3.5 cm wide and 2.5 cm thick exhibiting a strongly chatoyant, velvety, dark green character. The cluster is displayed prominently at one end of the piece and the chatoyant effect is very noticeable here, with seemingly shifting dark and light spots as you twist it in the light. The Malachite is balanced by one prominent, and a few smaller, smoky-tan Cerussite crystals at the other end of the piece with the largest at 3 cm across. These sit on some additional, bladed prismatic Malachite crystals that cover the orange-brown, Goethite stained matrix. Few large malachite specimens of this caliber from Tsumeb in this size class have ever been available, especially in such good condition. This is significant for Tsumeb and is an important locality piece with great composition and color! HIGHLY UNUSUAL and unique, which is what we love about Tsumeb!
