Unusual gem DT Topaz (93 grams)

Item Description

An impressive, highly unusual, water-clear, colorless, topaz crystal from Teofilo Otoni, Brazil. The strange-looking, etched, rounded termination has stunning stepped-growth faces. This striking crystal has several distinctive characteristics: some faces are preferentially glassy, water-clear; some are etched; and the nifty internal crazing in the lower 1.3 cm gives a totally different look. Doubly terminated, the base is partially contacted and bruised. Periphery wear is noted at the base. So it is not perfect on close inspection though it looks impressive. Irregardless, this remains a striking, highly representative and gemmy Brazilian topaz from a noted locale. 93 grams mass.
