Unusual Galena w/ Quartz & Sphalerite (Nowakowski Coll.)

Item Description

A fascinating and highly unusual galena combination specimen from this well-known Madan mine. The front of the very flat gray and narrow galena cube is pleasingly and richly covered with nifty sprays of glassy quartz points and highly lustrous jet-black sphalerite crystals. The lustrous back is another story! Just a couple of embedded sphalerites are noted, but one edge of galena is curved! It must have been casted against another crystal of some species.
