Item Description

A showy and excellent alteration galena cube from the famous Blanchard Mine. The surface of the etched cube have been pseudomorphed by sparkly anglesite. Bright green radial sprays on tiny acicular malachite crystals and bladed barite at the base are a nice contrast and typical accessories. The back of the piece shows the unaltered galena. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5096 and acquired at the Tuscon Show in 1989. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic and excellent pseudomorph combination material from Blanchard. UNUSUAL!
