unusual Fluorite With Schorl on Feldspar

The amount of weird and colorful variety in fluorite is one of the most interesting things about the species!!! This is a totally unique specimen with a strange growth of fluorite, in a naturalpocket. Aesthetically nestled in a vug of snow white, lustrous, feldspar crystals to 3 cm across is a cluster of translucent green, fluorite. The fluorite on closer exam is composed of modified octahedrons stacked up in two clusters to 2.5 cm in length, with growths perched upon each other like turtles on each other's backs in the Dr Suess story. It is simply BIZARRE and pretty riveting in person. There are also several schorl crystals, to 1.25 cm in length, scattered in and around the fluorites. A muscovite crystal sits at the right edge of the specimen. A very Showy combo specimen! From legendary dealer francois Lietard, one of teh great exporters of material into Europe, this came to us in 2007 (and later sold, and now is back). Francois' old label remains, with a price tag of 1600 on it. Obviously, we think it is worth that and more. It is a beautiful, complete, 360-degree display specimen.
