Item Description
A striking, highly unusual, CABINET cluster of fluorite octahedrons from the famous William Wise Mine and the Schlichter Collection. The octos are composed of multi-generational fluorite with varying colors, quality and textures. The core of the specimen is the classic, glowing green, with the broken underside showing banded purple. Some faces have a dramatic and strange-looking, second generation of preferential overgrowth of pastel-green, drusy fluorite. A few places have a third generation of very glass and gemmy, nearly colorless fluorite. This is certainly one of the most unusual Wise Mine fluorites I have seen. It certainly highlights distinctively variable fluorite chemistry during crystal formation! Valued at $400-450 for very unusual quality.
