Item Description

A highly unusual looking calcite from the classic Thomasville Quarry of Pennsylvania. One end of this striking, doubly terminated, intergrown pair of floater crystals is the classic translucent and lustrous, golden-amber calcite the locality is renowned for. The other end is a stairstep cluster of glassy, coloress scalenohedrons! The amber scalenohedron must have broken off of the pocket wall, healed and then regrew with the multiple terminations having a different chemistry! Complete all-around and essentiall pristine. A tiny bit of side contacting is noted, but with no damage, per se. An excellent quality and very weird-looking Thomasville calcite from the George Feist Collection # 1931.
