Unusual faden-like Calcite

Parallel-growth clusters of glassy, classic Charcas pokerchip and rhombic calcite appear to be held together by faden-like strings on this striking, sculptural and highly unusual specimen. Very interestingly, some crystals are pearlescent white, while others are glassy, translucent, gray. The two sides are distinctively different! Interesting chemistry here. The backlit photos highlight the faden-like strings. A rare Charcas calcite varietal!
