Unusual Elbaite w/ DT Quartz

An amazing looking elbaite combination specimen from this noted pegmatite area. A 6.3 cm, doubly terminated, transparent to translucent, tabular quartz blade is dramatically perched atop a bi-colored elbaite with fascinating, complex terminations. The lustrous, striated elbaite is green, to teal-blue, to blue-gray to purple and is slightly translucent. The embedded gemmy elbaite is a super accent. Complete all-around. The prism faces on the complex terminations have a bit of bruising and a bit of bruising is noted to the quartz blade on the other side. These have negligible impact to the outstanding sculptural quality and uniqueness of this very fine combination piece. Valued at $1000-1250.
