Item Description

A highly unusual , pristine, multi-generational miniature rubellite tourmaline from the renowned Himalaya Mine. The dramatically sculptural, doubly terminated, variable pink, translucent to gemmy, flattened trigonal floater crystal is very glassy and well-striated. The pinacoidal termination is preferentially etched on one side and capped with tiny classic "Himalaya pink" gemmy pyramidal crystals. The partially gemmy basal termination is strikingly accented with a desirable "cityscape" cluster of crystals on one end. Very interesting formation chemistry on this crystal! Mass is 40 grams. Comes with a Schneider's rocks & minerals label (1980-1996) with an August, 1980 date and a $55 price (a lot at the time for a locally mined small tourmaline!).
