Item Description
A striking and most unusual, LARGE CABINET, calcite specimen from an uncommon Chinese locale. The dramatic, flattened, prismatic calcite rombs are glassy, translucent and have color-zoning that ranges from tan to gray, with unique black bands. The rhombs are up to 6.5 cm (large, isolated crystal) and some are doubly terminated. Some of the narrowing terminations have a distinctive sawtooth look! Nearly pristine, with only the large isolated rhomb having a trivial bit of edge wear. Periphery wear is noted, but has no impact on this impressive large calcite. 4.9 pounds or 2.2 kilos. From finds about 5-10 years ago, this is valued $900-1000
