Unusual Calcite xls on Amethyst

Highly unusual calcite crystals are dramatically set on this impressive large amethyst plate from Irai. The striking 10.4 cm flattened, tapered crystal is doubly terminated, has multiple jagged terminated points and a frosted/etched faces. The smaller 7.5 cm calcite is another of the strange-looking calcites with twinned termination faces - certainly a most rare calcite habit. This crystal also has frosted, scaly, stepped-growth faces. The amethyst points are water-clear to translucent and have variable blush-purple color. The calcites are pristine and just a bit of periphery wear is noted to the amethysts. It displays very well without aid.
