A striking and highly unusual large calcite from famed Santa Eulalia and the James Zigras Mexico Collection. The mounded bubbly plate is composed of classic reddish-brown hematite-tinted calcite scalenohedrons. Weird looking very glassy, colorless, five-sided dissolution calcite growths nearly totally cover the first generation calcites. What was dissolved out of the myriad of cavities?? Fascinating calcite. Formerly in the Rice Museum Collection.
