A RARE bi-colored gemmy tanzanite thumbnail with striking ususual form from the Merelani Hills. The tabular, dramatically steeply terminated crystal has a rounded chisel termination and two well-striated faces. Most of the glassy, gemmy and lustrous crystal is a pleasing yellow-green. The base of the crystal is classic blue and blue-violet tanzanite. Back lighting reveals the classic pleochrosim, including desirable red hues. Complete all-around and pristine, a most fascinating, colorful and scuptural bi-colored gemmy tanzanite. 15.71 carats or just over 3 grams mass.
