Item Description
An architecturally beautiful and colorful bi-colored gem tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. Five parallel-growth prisms give the piece distinctive and evocative "cityscape" form. The limpid, very glassy striated prisms have classic "Himalaya pink" bodies, that are capped by very light green to near colorless areas below the interesting pink, highly modified pebbly pinacoidal terminations. Ex Bill Larson San Diego County Pegmatite Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook. Mass is 14 grams. A UNIQUE facet to this cutie is the 2.7 cm flat clay layer in one of the prisms (Larson owned the mine, collected it, and never cleaned it away, so you can see how it was found in nature).
