unusual Amethyst/Quartz on Calcite combination

Wow! Certainly one of the most dramatic and highly unusual large quartz & calcite specimens you will ever see from Irai! A mound of tightly intergrown, glassy, transparent to translucent, quartz points with scattered light amethyst tips and two second generation calcite scalenohedrons are dramatically set atop a large sharp, hexagonal calcite crystal. The quartz looks like a headdress! The lustrous, translucent, tan calcite is fabulously and preferentially accented with bands and fields of sparkly, tiny iron oxides on the crystal edges and faces with startling effect. A surreal and rare, 360-degree, Irai combination piece. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base (valued at $175), for free. Valued as a whole, around $1500-2000 but this is a unique piece, and it is hard to say really what it shoudl go for. I could easily see a calcite collector or Brazilian collector offering more. It is 3-dimensional and sublty complex, in person.
