Unique Gold wire in matrix (Robert Whitmore Coll.)

A fabulous, very rare, large gold wire jauntily set on matrix from the Julcani Mine of Peru ; and the Robert Whitmore Collection. Gold wires of this size from any worldwide locality are extremely rare and are highly desirable. MATRIX SPECIMENS are almost nonexistent. The beautifully burnished, curved and curled, wire is 1.5 cm long with bends, and would be longer if stretched out. There is additional visible gold adjacent to the wire and it has been looked at with scopes and by seceral specialist gold collectors to confirm authenticity (at Tucson, I showed it to Bill Pinch among others). A unique, old fine gold from this noted locale. We have never seen wire gold from this locale, in fact. Valued ??
