Unique Arsenopyrite "volcano" w/ Bournonite & Calcite (Willis & Lemanski Coll.)

A surreal, perhaps UNIQUE looking combination from the polymetallic deposits at well-known Pachapaqui. The other-worldly incredibly sculptural piece with the hole in the top looks like a deep sea hydrothermal vent black smoker "volcano" found at oceanic plate boundaries on the outside. The "chimney" is composed of a myriad to tiny sparkly metallic Arsenopyrite needles. The rich field of sharp bone-white Calcite spikes is a super contrast and accessory to the OUTSIDE of the piece and there are more Calcites in the throat of the "chimney". The INSIDE is a dramatic another story! Here it looks like a Horn-of-Plenty in one view with the hole at the end. Yes, indeed, as the Arsenopyrite needles are stunningly and richly peppered with classic, lustrous, highly desirable metallic-gray Bounonite "cogwheels", to 1.1 cm. Excellent Bournonite specimens are well-known from Pachapaqui, but NOT in this fantastic form and combination quality with Arsenopyrite and Calcite. Formerly in the Dick Willis Collection of Willis Earth Treasures, well-known New Jersey dealers. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 2005. A fantastic looking, VERY RARE combination from the locale. Value?? We have never seen another like it from anywhere in this combination. No clue how to value such an oddity but... A MUST for the locale, species or collector of the very unusual and unique!!
