Item Description
The type locality for Ullmannite lies in Siegen, Germany (specifically the Storch und Schuneberg Mine), and pieces from this area are certainly hard to find on the market. We've only had a select few pieces of Ullmannite from Siegen over the years. Here is a specimen of this very rare nickel antimony sulfide. It's a rich and historic example from this classic locality. Ullmannite, in good crystals, occurs very rarely, and this piece does show a bit of crystallization here and there in the form of basic cubes. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3011). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
