Item Description
Ulexite, an uncommon hydrated complex borate is famous from the evaporite deposits at Boron, which has produced numerous rare evaporite species. Few are as unusual as ulexite, also called "TV rock" for its fiber-optic-like optical properties, when found in transparent specimens. This particular matrix specimen is TERMINATED, something you almost NEVER see in the mineral; and it has superior prismatic luster and a shimmering, pearlescent, white color. The curved fibrous crystals reach 5.5 cm high. SUPERB FOR THE SPECIES AND VERY RARE as a specimen, instead of simply as cleavage masses! This specimen is 3-dimensional and complete all around. Ex Schneider Collection.
