Item Description
Tyuyamunite is a fairly common secondary hydrated uranyl vanadate found in the oxidized zones of U-V deposits, especially those of the Colorado Plateau-type. The species is well known for its amazing neon-yellow to lemon-yellow color. All four faces of this very rich miniature are covered with crusts of neon-yellow tyuyamunite. Striking, very colorful and uncommon material from this district. The Grants District is in Cibola and McKinley Counties. Older material from the Mullane Collection.
