Item Description

This is a notably hard to find specimen of Tyrolite from the Gortdrum Mine just a few miles north of Tipperary, Ireland. The entry on mindat.org states that the finest crystals of Tyrolite in the British Isles came from this short-lived mine that operated from 1967-1975. This piece features micro to crystalline coatings of blue-green Tyrolite on virtually all sides of the piece, associated with stark blue spots of Azurite on matrix. It's the only specimen of this material that we've ever had to offer, and we're not likely to have another any time soon, so if you collect rarities or minerals from Ireland / the British Isles, don't miss out on this one. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
