Item Description
Tyrolite, a hydrated Ca-Cu arsenate, is uncommon from this small extinct Spanish Cu-Ni-Co-As mine. The 1.3 cm vug hosts a pretty 7 mm teal-green tyrolite botryoid and clusters of lustrous lathes. Tyrolite patches are scattered on all sides of the sculptural miniature gossan matrix adding color and richness. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 7839 and acquired from the Cisneros' in October, 1975. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Highly representative, showy and uncommon material from the locale.
