Item Description
Tyrolite is a rare calcium copper arsenate carbonate mineral, named after the state of Tyrol in Austria, where the first specimens were found. This piece comes from the Delfina Mine in Asturias, Spain, where specimens have been collected off the dumps for decades. This piece probably dates back to the 1950s-1960s era, and features a rich group of semi-radiating foliated thin bladed crystals of rich blue-green colored Tyrolite, associated with minor deep blue Azurite and minor green Malachite on oxidized matrix. The Tyrolites look great up close, and we've photographed them with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. A very good example of this hard to find material from this lesser-known Spanish locale.
