Item Description

A pristine, doubly terminated, very gemmy and lustrous, pastel-pink kunzite crystal from the much less well-known San Pedro Mine on Hiriart Mt., San Diego County, California. It has a uniquely pastel-pink color to it, quite a bit lighter (but not colorless) than the traditional old Pala material. This is a very glassy, strangely etched older piece, with more vivid pink color looking down the C-axis. You can also see the twinning plane on one of the C axes. Mined in the 1970s or 80s. Ex Norm Dawson Collection, former owner of the White Queen Mine. 100 grams.
