Item Description

Sharp cassiterite specimens from this famous Tasmanian tin mine are very uncommon. Discovered in 1871, this rich mine operated continuosly until 1947 (MINDAT). This is a solid, rich cluster of intergrown, sharp, splendent, black with translucent brown sections, twinned cassiterite crystals. An important and impressive 360-degree old-timer, that comes with a Lidstrom's label dating to the 1960s or 70s.
