Twinned Cassiterite xl (rare) ex Obodda

Item Description

Well-crystallized cassiterite specimens are VERY RARE from any Afghanistan locality, as MINDAT lists 3 full pages of localities for the species. This sharp twinned crystal has bright metallic luster and rich chocolate-brown color. This doubly terminated crystal has modest edge wear. The upper termination is moderately contacted and lightly dinged and the lower termination is broken. This remains a RARE, high quality example of the species and locale, especially from the Afghanistan pegmatite terrains. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
