Item Description

Most people don't realize that there are several Turquoise localities in Colorado, which have produced some fine quality pieces, mostly suited for lapidary use. The old King Turquoise Mine near Manassa in southern central Colorado is a well-known locality (published in the "Minerals of Colorado" book), but you almost never see specimens on the market. This particular specimen is the only piece we've ever had to offer from the King Turquoise Mine featuring a gorgeous blue color 2-2.5 mm thick layer of polished Turquoise on host rock matrix. A small amount of raw Turquoise can be seen on a few sides of the piece for a nice touch. If you collect phosphates, minerals of Colorado, or if you're just a fan of interesting esoteric piece from odd localities, don't miss out on this one. From the collections of Charles F.
