Turquoise (fine thumbnail)

Turquoise is found in a large number of localities around the American Southwest, and the pieces from the Kingman area have some of the best color you'll see for the material. Typically, Kingman Turquoise is massive and isn't really found in good display specimens, but THIS piece is a remarkably attractive thumbnail with beautiful semi-spherical form and a bright blue color. It's not polished, like so many from Kingman, it's completely natural and looks great in person. The piece is complete all around, I can't really find any damage, so I'm calling it a complete "floater" and it looks great from several angles. For all you thumbnail collectors out there, or fans of secondary minerals, or even minerals from Arizona, this is a really attractive specimen, unlike most you'll see on the market from this area.
