Item Description

Crystallized turquoise is for some reason a true rarity in nature and occurs only at a VERY few localities worldwide. The very finest examples, most would say, come from this old Virginia mine. Vugs and veinlets of beautiful sparkly vivid blue microcrystals course through the massive quartz matrix on this super thumbnail pair. Classic old-time material, seldom on the market today. Ex Kay Robertson # 2719 and 9248, a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
