Item Description

The famous Turquoise specimens from the Bishop Mine in Virginia are regarded as the finest CRYSTALLIZED examples of the species in the world. The crystals are understandably micro, but still superb for what they are. This piece features brilliant blue colored, micro crystals of Turquoise sitting on Quartz matrix. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. These are classic, and rarely seen on the market today, so if you're a fan of phosphates, copper minerals or you love fine crystallized {micro} specimens, do not pass this one up. This specimen comes from the collection of our own Alex Venzke (#130.20), member of the leadership team of the Young Mineral Collectors group, a member of the mindat.org management team, a board member for the national Friends of Mineralogy organization, a board member for the Mineralogical Society of the District of Columbia, and co-founder and current Vice President of the Friends of Mineralogy Virginia Chapter.
