Item Description

It's not easy to find good specimen of non-US Turquoise on the market, but how often does one have the chance to pick one up from Kazakhstan? A European friend of ours in Tucson showed up with a handful of these attractive polished specimens, and we bought them all. He told us that this is some of the most chemically pure Turquoise known. This thumbnail sized specimen features a patch of beautiful medium blue Turquoise surrounded by a bit of reddish-brown host rock matrix. As I said, the front of the piece is polished to show off the lovely color, but the back of the piece shows that the Turquoise runs all the way through. These are incredibly hard to find on the market and considering they're fairly new, it's a great chance to pick one up before they're no longer available. Please note that this material came labeled as coming from "Majkojyn", but I can't find a listing for this locality, so I'm sticking with Zhilandy as it matches previously discovered material. I'm confident the piece is not form Kanatkazgan, as this material is has more of a pure blue color and the, and the Kanatkazgan pieces tend to have more of green tone to them.
