Item Description

Turquoise is found in a large number of localities throughout the American Southwest. The pieces from around the Kingman are well-known, not only to those in the lapidary trade, but to mineral collectors as well. Typically, Kingman Turquoise is massive and isn't really found in good display specimens, but this piece is an attractive small cabinet with beautiful semi-spherical form and a bright pale blue color. It's not polished, like so many from Kingman, it's completely natural and looks great in person. For you fans of secondary minerals, or even minerals from Arizona, this is a really attractive specimen, unlike most you'll see on the market from this area.
The piece comes with an old label from Dave Shannon that states, "I do not know the exact locality. Persons familiar with turquoise should be able to pin point it though."
The piece is from the Laslo (Lazlo {sp?}) Dudas collection (1970s).
