Item Description
A cute and sculptural miniature crust of "turkey fat" smithsonite from Rush Creek. Yellow greenockite (cadmium sulfide) is included in the smithsonite, that has pseudomorphed the 3-dimensional cluster of saddle-shaped dolomite rhombs. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 2917 and acquired at the Southwest Show in 1963. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Classic older Rush Creek turkey fat smithsonite.
