A stunning rainbow of iridescent turgite botryoids covers the sculptural large goethite matrix on this fantastic and dramatic specimen from Graves Mountain. Turgite is a mixture of goethite and hematite and some of the finest examples come from here. A SUPER accent on the side of the layered goethite plate is the fabulous cave filled with goethite stalactites! Ex Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. The piece looks great from either direction. This is certainly one of the finest and most unusual large Graves Mountain turigite specimens we have seen.
