Turgite (Iridescent Hematite and Goethite)

Turgite is actually defined as a mixture of Goethite and Hematite, and is not a valid mineral species. In addition to its fine Rutiles, Graves Mountain is known for these Turgites due to their unique appearance and coloration. Sometimes they are iridescent, and this one has a great rainbow of colors when viewed up close (it helps if the piece is in sunlight). Don't miss out on this great American classic.
