Tunellite is a very rare hydrated borate, first discovered at the U.S. Borax Mine in 1961. This exceptional single crystal from Boron is euhedral, translucent, and an impressive 2.6 cm across. Older material, the sharp form, pearlescent luster, and translucence of the layered crystal are superb for the species. This lustrous Tunellite sits perfectly on matrix and, for what it is, makes an exceptional display piece.
