Item Description
Tugtupite is a very rare silicate, a member of the Helvine Group, which is a subgroup of the Sodalite Group species. This rich conical specimen is from the Type Locality. Bands of white, finely crystalline tugtupite and scattered patches of light pink tugtupite are a clearly visible rich red under SW UV light in the unidentified matrix. Such specimens from the Type Locality are rare, highly desirable and hard to get today. valued $750-950 for the intensity of the fluorescence. Ex Josef Vajdak Collection.
