Item Description
Vivid pink, lustrous and translucent tugtupite dramatically stands out against the contrasting matrix on this rich and excellent thumbnail from the Type Locality area. Tugtupite is a rare Be-silicate and this is a very fine thumbnail from the Kay Robertson Collection # 7353. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). Cherry-red fluorescence under SW UV light.
