Item Description
Tsumcorite is a rather rare hydrated lead zinc arsenate species, named after the prolific Tsumeb Mine (Tsumeb Corporation = Tsumcor), which is the type locality. There are not too many places outside of Tsumeb where you can get your hands on a piece of this material, but we're fortunate to have a specimen from the Michael Mine in the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. This piece features micro yellow crystals of Tsumcorite along with Mimetite (according to the label), but you really need to see them with a loupe, and more preferably under the microscope. If you collect rarities, this is a stellar opportunity to pick up something that is virtually unseen in today's market. For reference, the Michael Mine no longer exists, and the dump has been reclaimed and covered over, so you'll never see these pieces again.
