Item Description
Tsavorite is a vanadium bearing Grossular which was first discovered in 1967 in Kenya. These stones along with Demantoid, are regarded among the best green hues for gem Garnet in the world. Tsavorite has for many years been a rare, high-in-demand gemstone in the retail market, and thus commands a high price due its rarity and beauty. Keep in mind that the top quality Tsavorite in the world only comes from a few places and the supply has certainly been dwindling in the last 20 years. This gem is a light yellow-green "oval" cut gem and with very slight inclusions. This stone was mined near the famous Tanzanite locality at Merelani.
