Tritomite-(Y)

Item Description

Excellent, rectangular crystals of ultra-rare Yttrium silicate, Tritomite-(Y), from a previously unknown location. Encased in matrix, the crystals reach up to an enormous 3.5 cm, and the shiny, resinous luster on the fractured surfaces is quite good. This is the only known occurence of this mineral from this locality, and the known number of localities in the world is only six. Formerly in the collection of Bill Smith.
