Item Description
Pyrite trisoctahedrons are rare from the historic iron mines of Elba. This very fine, complete all-around sculptural cluster is comprised of mirror-bright, golden-brassy, pyrite octahedrons with triangular faces (trisoctahedrons). The large crystal is 3.0 cm across on this piece. This outstanding piece is a floater and is nearly pristine, with only very trivial contacting and periphery wear. Certainly one of the finer Elba pyrites we have offered at auction. Every turn presents an entirely different perspective to this excellent specimen. Ex Larry Krause Collection. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
