Item Description

A rare matrix specimen of Triphylite hosting several, sharp crystals to 2 cm in a Quartz matrix from the important pegmatite locality at Chandlers Mill, Vermont. Although somewhat small, these crystals are very good for the species with their well-formed, barrel-shaped prisms measuring 0.6 to 1.2 cm in length. There are at least a dozen greenish-blue crystals on this piece at least partially frozen too well exposed in the translucent Quartz matrix. Historically, this locality was famous for great Triphylite crystals like this, but they are now rare. Such specimens are almost impossible to find for sale and remain an important rarity.
