Item Description

Mineral specimens from the much less well-known Greenside Mine of Cumbria, England are rare and are very rarely available on the market. A sharp, glassy, translucent, pearlescent, trigonal, "pokerchip" calcite crystal jauntily sits atop a column of massive calcite on this showy old-timer. The pokerchip is complete all-around and has only trivial edgewear on one edge. Almost certainly this fine piece is around 100 years old or older, but no proof. Ex Mullane Collection and comes with an older, faded Burminco label.
